The two pieces of artworks that left an impression on me were the Falling Man and BLACK SUBJECTS: Still II. Falling Man left an impression on me because it has a really deep meaning. It signifies what is happening in the African American community. This is basically showing how violence is used to solve problems. It also had an impact on me because I lost my cousin to gun violence. The second piece of artwork BLACK SUBJECTS: Still II, left an impression because just by looking at it, it gives the impression of imprisonment. The lines give the feel of being behind bars. My eyes were attracted to this specific artwork because of the different elements that are used throughout it.

The two artworks that I had a connection to were Zonk'ziwe, Green Market Square, Cape Town and Tembok Toleransi #2 (Tolerance Wall #2). I have a connection with Zonk'ziwe, Green Market Square, Cape Town because the facial expressions on the women's face draw my attention to the piece. It also allows me to feel the emotion of the women in the pictures. The description of the pieces said, "Just like our ancestors, we live 365 days a year, and we should speak without fear." I also feel a connection with the artwork because I can feel what the artist is going through just by looking at the picture. I also understand what it is like to be a black female. The second artwork Tembok Toleransi #2 (Tolerance Wall #2), I connect to this piece because on the wall there are a few recordings that relate to the different religions he went through. One of the recordings from his past religions were Christianity. This connects to me because I am a Christian.

I would like to know more about these two pieces of artwork. I want to know why the artist used the color red to signify the is an act of violence and racism throughout his painting Multiplied. I would also like to know why he chose to use abstract expressionism. In the second artwork Cinema, I would like to know why he decided to create this piece. I also would like to know what this piece signified through his perspective.
