Module 7: Video Review

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the video Architecture: The Science of Design, I learned that in order to build a building you must make sure it can handle wind. If not the building to can be damaged and it will cause elevators to stop. Also, I learn that there is a lot of elements that go into making concrete. In the second video, Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School, I learned that this lady named Dana had asked Oak Park to design her a house. I also learned the Wright made Prairie Houses that all were different from each other but had some minor similarities.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

The videos are related to the text because it gives information on how to start making these large pieces of art. It also goes into depth on the different types of architecture. The text also talks about Frank Lloyd Wright and how he formed these Prairie Houses. It also gives information on how Architecture takes a role in our communities.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to the understanding of Architecture?

I thought the videos were interesting. I also thought the videos did add some depth because it gave a lot of background information. It also gave information on how it is used and how people started to develop ideas from this.
4. Why did you choose the films that you watched?

I choose to watch the videos I wanted to know what was beyond the title. Just by looking at the titles of the videos it engaged me.
