1. Explain why you selected the video you choose from the selection listed above.
I chose the video, The Measure of All Things: Greek Art and The Human Figure. I chose this video because I wanted to learn more about this topic. I also chose this video because the title seemed interesting.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the first video, How Art Made The World 1- More Human Than Human, I learned that the statue of Venus is made out of limestone and it is worth $60 million. I also learned that the styles of the Egyptians do not change. All the different pieces of artwork had led up to human artwork with the motion to it. In the second video, The Measure of All Things: Greek Art and The Human Figure, I learned that Greek art during this time was mostly the body of women. I also learned that the scratched on the belly of the artwork represented the women having stretch marks after birth.
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The videos relate to the text because it gave some information that the videos did not give. It also spoke about the artwork that was in the book as well. However, the text had more information about artwork in different parts of the world and how it related to religion.
4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to the understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I thought the films were very informational. They add depth to understanding the reading because it explains somethings that the text did not touch on.
