Module 9- Video Review

1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above.
The two videos I chose were The Drawings of Michelangelo and Albrecht Dürer: Image of a Master. I chose these two videos because I wanted to learn more about the artwork of Michelangelo. I chose the second video because I wanted to learn something new about an artist I do not know about.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the first video The Drawings of Michelangelo, I learned that Michelangelo drew all of his life and that he destroyed some of his own artwork. I also learned that Michelangelo had made many drawings of the nude male because he wanted to perfect and master structure of the body. In the second video Albrecht Dürer: Image of a Master, I learned that a painter examines there artwork and then transfers it. I also learned that Dürer later changes his style to copper engraving.
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The videos relate to the reading because the text spoke about the works of Michaelangelo. The text also gave information about Albrecht Dürer. It is also related to the text because the text talks about the renaissance which some of these artists had created artwork during this time. The text also spoke about the different centuries that were shown through their artwork.
4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to the understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I thought the films were very informative. They brought attention to information that was not really given within the book. Such as the different type of artworks these artists had created. They also explained things in the book.
